Brock Lesnar returned to the WWE ring for the first time in eight years in the PPV main event against John Cena in front of a sellout crowd in Chicago, Ill. He opened the match by tackling and bloodying Cena with legitimate elbow strikes to his head. This was scripted, but the elbows were legitimate. The ref temporarily stopped the match and medics checked on Cena as part of the "show" to create drama the fight might be stopped.
They gradually moved into a pro wrestling-style match, but it was very stiff and looked as legitimate as any scripted pro wrestling fight has in WWE history.
Lesnar bled after taking a chain-wrapped fist to the head. He likely bladed, as is common practice in the pro wrestling industry.
Lesnar applied a kimura on top of the base of the ringside steps, which were brought into the ring in this no-rules main event. Cena managed to escape by lifting Lesnar up and then dropping him on the ring steps.
The fight lasted nearly 18 minutes and did end with Cena scoring a win after hitting his Attitude Adjustment finisher on the ringside steps.
Lesnar is signed to work another 11 months with WWE and is expected to go on a rampage over losing on WWE Raw tomorrow night.
