The night's main event provided the "Submission of the Night," as Nate Diaz earned the bonus for his second round guillotine choke over Jim Miller. It was an impressive finish not just from a technical standpoint, but also because Miller had never been stopped before in his lengthy MMA career.
Taking the "Knockout of the Night" was Lavar Johnson, who bruised and battered Pat Barry with a sick barrage of strikes in the first round to earn the TKO victory. Barry came near finishing Johnson on the ground with an Americana submission attempt, but after he lost it and the fight got back to the feet, Johnson's attack was too much, and he hit Barry with a prolonged attack against the cage that finally dropped him.
The "Fight of the Night" went to one of the two flyweight fights on the night's preliminary card, the first flyweight fights outside of the debut tournament in the division. Louis Gaudinot's rapid-fire back and forth bout with John Lineker was given the "FotN" distinction, and it was certainly a thrilling and fast paced affair. Gaudinot ultimately won the bout with a submission with only six seconds remaining in the second round.
