For Miller, Diaz represents just another talented opponent he's ready to get through on his path to a title shot, and he feels he's fully prepared for what Diaz is bringing to the cage on Saturday night.
"We have a couple of really lanky guys at AMA [Fight Club], Nate has a difficult style to deal with but not a hard style to emulate," Miller said in an interview with MMASucka.com. "He's not a flashy guy and doesn't throw a lot of crazy techniques so it wasn't that difficult to have guys mimic him.”
Miller isn't leaving any question about what he wants to do in the fight, and the ground specialist will try to best Diaz in the submission game on Saturday night.
"It's a 25 minute fight so if it goes the distance it will definitely hit the mat," Miller said. "I'm looking for the sub and if I can get the opportunity I can sub anybody out so yeah it's definitely something I'm looking for and trying to make happen."
Penick's Analysis: If we get extended sequences of Miller and Diaz attempting submissions on Saturday night it's going to be one hell of a main event fight. The potential for a great ground battle makes this one of the more entertaining lightweight fights on paper, and it should be a really good main event fight for Fox and for the UFC on Saturday.
