After a build up to the event featuring enough injuries to drive UFC President Dana White prematurely gray, if he had any hair that is, UFC 149 has finally arrived and with it a lineup featuring a handful of intriguing match-ups as well as the debut of former Bellator middleweight champ Hector Lombard and a title-fight between bantamweights Urijah Faber-Renan Barao.
Lombard is unbeaten since 2006, racking up record of 24-0-1 in the span since and has finished 24 of the 31 total opponents he’s taken out. He will face Tim Boetsch who has put together a nice run as of late in his own right, winning four straight including a recent stoppage of Yushin Okami.
Meanwhile, Faber and Barao will battle for the division’s interim belt while linear champion Dominick Cruz recovers from knee surgery. Faber is 26-5 with past success against the likes of Eddie Wineland and Brian Bowles, while Barao boasts an incredible 28-fight winning streak.
As always, Five Ounces of Pain will be watching from start to finish and relaying real time results back to our readers. Action kicks off at 6:45 PM EST on Facebook before FX takes over with more preliminary pairings at 8:00 PM EST and PPV rounds the show out two hours later.
