Strikeforce officials announced that a lightweight bout pitting Ryan Couture against Joe Duarte has been added to their July 14th card in Portland, Oregon.
Couture (4-1) will be looking for the first three fight winning streak in his young career. He is coming off an impressive third round technical knockout of Conor Heun this past March. Duarte (10-2) has won six consecutive fights dating back to July 2010. He last fought in August 2011 when he earned a unanimous decision over Jorge Gurgel at Strikeforce Challengers 18.
The Strikeforce event, which takes place from the Rose Garden Arena, features two championship fights. Middleweight champion Luke Rockhold defends his title against Tim Kennedy while undefeated Tyron Woodley and Nate Marquardt battle for the vacant welterweight title.
