Joe Lauzon in need of new opponent after injury knocks Terry Etim out of August fight

Maybe the MMA Gods just do not want Terry Etim and Joe Lauzon to square off against one another.

Unfortunately it appears Etim has been injured and the bout, set for UFC on FOX 4, is now off. This is the second time these two were scheduled to face each other with an injury ending the first bout’s coming to fruition.

The news was first confirmed by UFC Tonight, though the extent of Etim’s injury remains unknown.

Lauzon is expected to remain on the August 4 card destined for Los Angeles. Lauzon is 21-7 in his career and coming off a knockout defeat at the hands of Anthony Pettis.

Etim (15-4) has went 1-2 since putting together a four-fight win streak between 2008-09.
