Despite the sour taste an egregious scoring error may have left after Demetrious Johnson and Ian McCall met for the first time this past March, the two flyweights are back tonight to deliver what should be a sweet scrap in their headlining rematch at UFC on FX 3. Their previous bout featured fifteen fast-pace minutes of competitive action that would have resulted in a “sudden victory” period had the judges tallied the rounds correctly rather than ruling the bout in favor of Johnson.
The winner of Johnson-McCall will move on to face Joseph Benavidez for the UFC’s inaugural flyweight championship.
Also booked for this evening are a number of interesting bouts including those featuring Josh Neer-Mike Pyle, Scott Jorgensen-Eddie Wineland, and Charlie Brenneman-Erick Silva.
