UFC on FX 3 Results: "Mighty Mouse" prevails with decision win over "Uncle Creepy"

Despite the sour taste an egregious scoring error may have left after Demetrious Johnson and Ian McCall met for the first time this past March, the two flyweights were back tonight and delivered a sweet scrap in their headlining rematch at UFC on FX 3. Their previous bout featured fifteen fast-pace minutes of competitive action that would have resulted in a “sudden victory” period had the judges tallied the rounds correctly rather than ruling the bout in favor of Johnson. This time around the back-and-forth battle was present but no mistakes came into play, as Johnson looked sharp en route to a Unanimous Decision victory.

With the success Johnson moved on to face Joseph Benavidez for the UFC’s inaugural flyweight championship at a yet-to-be-determined event.

Also booked for this evening were a number of interesting bouts including those featuring Josh Neer-Mike Pyle, Scott Jorgensen-Eddie Wineland, and Charlie Brenneman-Erick Silva. All three fights ended in the first frame of action with Pyle leaving Neer face-down after a well-timed right, Wineland weathering a brutal cut on his forehead to finish Jorgensen with strikes, and Silva locking in a Rear-Naked Choke to earn the tap.
