Brian Ebersole's unexpected UFC run continued on Friday night in Atlantic City, as he avoided an early knockdown and very close submission attempt from T.J. Waldburger to come back and take a unanimous decision victory at UFC on FX 4.
Waldburger dropped Ebersole very early in the first round, and after a little work on top on the ground, he locked on a D'Arce choke in a scramble. Ebersole's face turned a deep purple, but he continued defending and broke free. For the next 13 minutes, Ebersole turned things in his favor.
He was landing more strikes on the feet, but it was Ebersole taking it back to the ground and doing damage in the top game that turned the tide. He avoided several more submission attempts from Waldburger and did enough damage to win the next two rounds, taking the unanimous decision nod for his fourth straight win in the UFC. For Waldburger, it was the end of a two-fight winning streak, dropping him to 3-2 in the UFC.
