UFC featherweight champ Jose Aldo will defend his divisional title for the second straight time in Brazil, as a bout between the talented 25-year old and top challenger Erik Koch has been confirmed for October 13 at UFC 153. The event is being held in Rio de Janeiro and is scheduled to host a fight between light heavyweights Quinton Jackson-Glover Teixeira as well as the follow-up appearances for both TUF Brasil winners.
Aldo, who has dealt with some minor injury issues in recent months, hasn’t seen action since his strike-based stoppage of Chad Mendes at UFC 142 this past January when he memorably ran into the animated audience after notching the victory. He holds an overall record of 21-1 including thirteen wins by way of TKO.
Though a clear-cut underdog, Koch is no slouch in his own right with a 13-1 record and success in his last four outings.
