Michael Bisping believes beating Brian Stann will earn him a title-shot

The UFC middleweight division is currently experiencing a logjam at the top with fighters such as Chris Weidman, Alan Belcher, Tim Boetsch, and Michael Bisping all having a case for a future a crack at champion Anderson Silva. While the company’s brass is staying tight-lipped on the matter, Bisping recently attempted to clear up a cloudy situation by explaining he’d been told a convincing victory over Brian Stann at UFC 152 will earn him the honor of hooking up with Silva inside the Octagon.

“I’ve been told if I beat him – and beat him well – I’ll get a title shot,” said Bisping in a recent interview with ESPN before joking, “But I haven’t gotten it in writing, so it probably doesn’t mean anything.”

If Bisping is able to hold up his end of the bargain by beating down Stann in September the Brit believes he has studied Silva enough to capitalize on a number of flaws in the all-time great’s game.

“Every time I watch him fight, I think he always looks mortal if you will. He always looks beatable,” offered the confident Bisping. “Anderson always comes out the winner. My hat is off to him, but I see holes in his game.”

Weidman has also come forward in recent weeks to say the UFC matchmaking team has approached his camp about a meeting with Silva. Meanwhile, the Brazilian’s team has stated “The Spider” is interested in high-profile fights rather than those against lesser-known competitors.
