Following UFC on FUEL TV 4, Dana White announced that Ross Pearson and George Sotiropoulos will serve as coaches for the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter: Australia vs. UK.
This international version of the UFC’s hit reality show, nicknamed “The Smashes”, will match fighters from Australia against their counterparts from the United Kingdom. Pearson and Sotiropoulos will square off against each other in the season’s finale.
Pearson (13-6) is the TUF 9 winner has recorded a 5-3 record in the UFC. After competing primarily at lightweight he has since dropped to featherweight for his his last two bouts. The results have been mixed with a unanimous decision win over Junior Assuncao in Dec. 2011 and a technical knockout loss to Cub Swanson recently at UFC on FX 4.
Sotiropoulos (14-4) is a veteran of season 6 of The Ultimate Fighter. He began his UFC career with seven consecutive wins which included victories over Joe Stevenson, Kurt Pellegrino and Joe Lauzon. However, Sotiropoulos now will look to put an end to a two fight skid after loses to Dennis Siver and Rafael dos Anjos.
