Strikeforce Portland: All Fighters Make Weight ahead of the Event

Welcome to Fighters.com’s weekend of coverage from Portland Oregon for Strikeforce: Kennedy vs. Rockhold, live from the Rose Garden.

So many storylines come into this event that this event interesting.  Jason High makes his long awaited return against Nate Moore.  Mizuto Hirota makes his North American debut against hometown hero Patrick “Bam Bam” Healy, marking his first fight at home in more than two years.  After a devastating loss, Roger Gracie returns to face Keith Jardine at middleweight.  Finally, two titles are on the line.  The vacant welterweight championship will finally be decided between undisputed #1 contender Tyron Woodley and promotional newcomer Nate Marquardt.  In the main event, the Middleweight Championship is on the line when popular Tim Kennedy gets set to meet current champion Luke Rockhold.

Starting us off is the weigh-ins which commence on Friday at 7 PM Eastern / 4 PM Pacific.

Middleweight Bout:  Lorenz Larkin (186.5) vs. Robbie Lawler (186)

Middleweight Bout: Roger Gracie (186 – had to strip down) vs. Keith Jardine (185)

For the Vacant Welterweight Championship: Nate Marquardt (169.5) vs. Tyron Woodley (169.5) (5 rounds)

Main Event – For the Middleweight Championship: Tim Kennedy (184.5) vs. Luke Rockhold (185.5)  (c)

Update: All fighters have made weight as of 5 PM Pacific.  Rockhold and Larkin quickly came back to the scales, only minutes after the weigh-ins concluded and made their respective weight cuts.

Strikeforce Portland: Kennedy vs. Rockhold is live from the Rose Garden at Rose Quarter, Portland Oregon.  We will begin out coverage at 7:30 PM Eastern / 4:30 PM Pacific Time with the untelevised Jason High vs. Nate Moore fight.  In the United States, the televised prelims begin at 8 PM Eastern / 8 PM Pacific on Showtime Extreme, and the main card is live at 10 PM Eastern / 10 PM Pacific on Showtime (tape delayed for the West Coast.)  In Canada, you can watch the event live on the Superchannel network.
