Yesterday, the Bellator Fighting Championships announced the signing of wrestling prospect Shawn Bunch. Afterwards Bellator Chairman and CEO Bjorn Rebney tweeted a tease, “Today’s Bunch announcement was about the future. Tomorrow’s announcement is about the present. Spectacular fighter who will have impact now”
The latest fighter to join the Bellator roster is undefeated lightweight Alexander “Tiger” Sarnavskiy who is a teammate of middleweight standout Alexander Shlemenko. Rebney described Sarnavskiy as “an incredibly explosive and dynamic Mixed Martial Artist who should be a force here at Bellator.”
Sarnavskiy will enter the Bellator cage sporting a perfect 20-0 record with 17 of those wins coming by stoppage. In his most recent bout in May, Sarnavskiy notched a first round knockout of Maykel Becerra.
Sarnavskiy is expected to make his debut in the Bellator season seven lightweight tournament later this year.
