Frank Mir: “I’m gonna rain on that parade, steal the belt from him and take it home.”

UFC heavyweight champ Junior dos Santos has spoken at length about how winning the divisional belt was a dream come true after growing up in abject poverty. Unfortunately for him the only “feel good” story upcoming opponent Frank Mir is concerned about is the one involving an ending with him as a three-time title-holder even though his career was nearly ended years ago in a serious motorcycle accident.

Mir spoke about his plans for Dos Santos in a preview for their headlining tilt this weekend at UFC 146 where he summed up his intentions in a single sentence, stating, “I’m gonna rain on that parade, steal the belt from him and take it home.”

Dos Santos Doesn’t See Title-Defense Being a Five-Round Affair

The 32-year old also reaffirmed his position that Dos Santos is in serious trouble if action hits the ground.

“Stylistically this match-up is just a bad one for him,” explained the 16-5 Mir. “Granted, he’s a little bit better than boxing than I am. That’s fine. But how much better am I at jiu-jitsu than he is? I’m willing to bet that’s gap a lot larger.”

Check out the full preview below featuring Mir’s analysis of his recent win over Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira as well as Dos Santos’ take on Saturday night’s scrap:
