Raw was not pretty Monday night, but a definite highlight was Bob Backlund, who at 62 at least looks every bit as spry as most members of the WWE roster (much more so than Great Khali). Backlund is a former longtime champ who is bonkers, and he was the latest in a string of guest star to embarrass Heath Slater, keeping his chin high after a loss to Sin Cara. Oh yeah, Slater and Cara had a Money in the Bank qualifying match about as long as a sneeze. Fast forward that if you want, or don’t, I’m not your mom.
Backlund joins Vader, Sid, Doink the Clown, and master yogi “Diamond” Dallas Page on the list of wrestling vets who got a call one day and said “Hell yeah I’ll go back on TV to mess with Heath Slater.”
