Strikeforce bantamweight Miesha Tate set for return to action on August 18 card

Miesha Tate and Ronda Rousey will likely see a lot of each other in August, as the two women will compete on the same August 18 card from San Diego. While Rousey defends the Strikeforce bantamweight title against Sarah Kaufman in the main event, Tate will return to action to meet Julie Kedzie.

Strikeforce officials confirmed the bout on Monday night.

Earlier this year, Tate (12-3) was handed a submission defeat at the hands of Rousey when the former Olympian latched on an Armbar and earned the title. “Takedown” is 5-2 in her Strikeforce career.

Meanwhile, Kedzie (16-9) will be fighting for the first time in over a year. She last faced Alexis Davis, falling by way of decision.
