The original Sept. 7 date, expected for the Bankers Life Fieldhouse, would have been the first event in the city since September of 2010's UFC 119. The location and venue of the new date has not yet been determined.
The UFC hadn't officially announced the event, and only one bout had been reported thus far, a featherweight tilt between Bart Palaszewski and Diego Nunes. However, the venue's website stated that tickets were to go on sale next week, though it has since been taken off their event calendar.
Penick's Analysis: It's certainly unfortunate for the fans in Indianapolis who were excited for the UFC's return. Whether they had low buzz in the city for the planned return date, or if they just didn't have the fights together for that date so quick after UFC 151, they have decided that it just won't work at this time. It's certainly possible they keep the card in the city a month later, though I doubt that's the likely scenario here.
