The UFC was left with less than a month to fill a co-headlining clash on September 1 at UFC 151 after news surfaced stating welterweight Josh Koscheck had been forced out of planned meeting with Jake Ellenberger due to a bulging disc in his back.
News of Koscheck’s condition was revealed on UFC Tonight. No timetable was offered for his eventual return to the ring. A replacement for the former Ultimate Fighter is currently being sought.

Koscheck, a former title-contender, is coming off a Split Decision loss to Johny Hendricks many fans felt he deserved the nod in. Finding a reputable substitute for Koscheck could be difficult, as “Kos” holds an overall record of 17-6 with past wins over Diego Sanchez, Anthony Johnson, Paul Daley, and Matt Hughes.
