Dana White not down with idea of Nick Diaz vs. Anderson Silva

MMA fans were left salivating over the weekend when Cesar Gracie came forward to say his star student, Nick Diaz, was interested in continuing his fight-career rather than remain retired and wanted to take on UFC middleweight champ Anderson Silva in a catch-weight affair. However, it appears such a scrap is unlikely to ever take place, at least if UFC President Dana White has anything to say about it (which he obviously does).

White addressed the potential pairing earlier today after a press conference for UFC on FOX 4 where he made his opinion clear on the matter.

Gracie Says Title Not Important to Diaz, Just Big Fights

“I can tell you this, not theoretically – Diaz/Anderson is not going to happen. That’s just ridiculous. (Gracie) would have a better chance of convincing me, I don’t know, to get hair plugs,” responded White in a conversation with MMAJunkie.

Silva is currently waiting for a clear contender to emerge with Chris Weidman and Tim Boetsch the only options, though neither is the PPV draw as “The Spider” is hoping for.
