Alan Belcher points to Brazil as site of next fight

While an official announcement hasn’t surfaced yet, it appears UFC middleweight Alan Belcher will head to Brazil for his next bout based on a recent message he posted via Twitter. According to Belcher, his upcoming tilt will likely involve “taking a trip down south, very south.”

With the South American nation hosting past events, as well as an upcoming show in October, it seems to be a likely landing spot for Belcher with Vitor Belfort as a potential opponent. Belcher’s management team relayed their client’s willingness to face Belfort in his proverbial backyard last week and “The Phenom” has already been linked to the card.

Belcher Wants Battle with Belfort or Chris Weidman

Belcher has won four straight with all of the victories involving some form of finish. He holds an overall record of 18-6 with sixteen stoppages and success against Jason MacDonald, Patrick Cote, and most recently Rousimar Palhares. He is considered to be among the group of middleweights vying for a title-shot without a clear-cut contender currently in place.
