25-year old UFC champion Jon Jones remains on track to defend his title against Dan Henderson in a month by avoiding jail time stemming from a May arrest for DUI. Jones was taken into custody as the result of showing signs of intoxication moments after a one-car accident where he smashed into a utility pole, injuring his two female passengers as well.
Jones faced sentencing on Tuesday and received a $1,000 fine along with having his driver’s license suspended for six months. He was also forced to pay repairs to the utility company and complete a “victims impact panel” in the next three months.
“Blessed to still have the full support of (Broome) County/ all my fans and my DWI case officially behind me. Moving forward,” wrote Jones of the matter on his Twitter account.
Jones Confused by Henderson’s Disrespect
“Bones” will meet Henderson in the main event at UFC 151 on September 1.
