Mark Hominick paired with Pablo Garza for meeting in Montreal

A little more than a year ago Mark Hominick was fighting for a UFC title. This November he’ll likely be fighting for his job.

News of a bout between Hominick and Pablo Garza surfaced earlier today with confirmation being offered by UFC officials. The two talented featherweights will meet in Montreal at UFC 154. The November 17 show is expected to feature welterweight ace Georges St-Pierre returning to action after an extended injury-related layoff where he’ll attempt to unify his title with the interim strap currently worn by Carlos Condit.

Hominick is currently on a three-scrap skid though two involved hard-fought decision losses to divisional champion Jose Aldo and, most recently, Eddie Yagin. The Ontario native holds an overall record of 20-11 with sixteen stoppages and wins over Yves Edwards, Jorge Gurgel, George Roop, and Leonard Garcia.

The 11-3 Garza burst on the scene with back-to-back bonus-winning finishes but came up short against Dustin Poirier and Dennis Bermudez in his last two tilts. Seven of his wins have come by way of submission.
